Everyone knows you gotta C.Y.A....
With only 4 more weeks left at my job, it got me thinking about the past 5 years and what i'd learned from this corporate environment. Out of all the many functions/skills/lessons I had learned, the most important one of all was 'In order to Survive you had to C.Y.A - Cover Your Arse'.
Which got me thinking - Once I left full time Corporate America... who was going to cover mine?
And believe me, it needs covering. Most of you can atest to the fact that if there's a ditch in the road, i'm more likely to walk into it then around it. If there's a stool or a table, I just don't feel quite satified unless I've stubbed my toe on it. What insurance company in their right mind was going to offer cheap comprehensive coverage for 8 months to this 26 year old clutz who had visions of bunjee jumping in Queenstown and diving in Ko Tao?
Well after some research and thanks to the travelindependent.info site (yet again) i came across what i hope will never have to be my saviour...
Example of coverage:
If you are wildlife-watching in the extremes of Alaska and are attacked by a polar bear, are you covered? It depends. You see, if the bear attacks you while you were watching them as a part of a wildlife safari or trekking, then YES we would cover you (assuming the bear didn't catch you of course), but if you were chasing the bear having had a beer too many the night before and you thought it would be a laugh, er, then NO we wouldn't.
They cover bunjee jumping, zorbing (whatever that is), parasailing, camel & elephant riding, sea kayaking, diving, basically anything that doesn't involve support ropes & aerial devices. Coverage includes medical evacuation by heli - (sounds kind of fun), hospital care, and most importantly my IPOD and Digital Camera!
So for those of you who were a little worried about this BrownGirl's clumsy ways, don't worry she's got her arse covered :)
